As a studio dedicated to the intersection of art and design for movement and mindfulness, we embark on projects that create spaces for self-reflection and self-development. Our focus is on crafting environments and experiences that go beyond aesthetics, offering opportunities for individuals to engage with art in ways that enhance their well-being, foster mindfulness, and encourage personal growth. With over a decade of coaching various physical movement disciplines such as martial arts, gymnastics, and parkour, James leverages his expertise to advance his career in design and communication. His students include children, families, adults and over 50s alike. Teaching has provided James with valuable insights into how people of different abilities perceive risk, play, and exploration. Armed with this understanding, he has established movement academies in Beijing, Brooklyn, and Abu Dhabi.

Passion for architecture and sculpture began at an early age, and only grew stronger with the incorporation of parkour philosophy. This fusion led him to realise the profound impact of public art and he went on to create narrative-driven art for both public and private spaces. However, encountering the constraints of public art, he founded Studio Flowstate to innovate beyond these limitations. James now integrates his studies in neuroscience and mindfulness into each project, pushing boundaries and enhancing every endeavour.

Flowstate is a company years in the making, an organic journey of demand and supply leading to its creation. As the 'ikigai' of our director James, it was a natural progression from knowledge acquired and passions discovered throughout his lifetime.

Drawing from extensive experience in the creative and construction industries, opportunities emerged where Flowstate could profoundly impact both communities and companies.
